Scott Pilgrim Comicverse, Kim/Ramona/Scott
Summary:  Ramona wants to cuddle.

Kim was sitting cross-legged on the floor, idly tapping her drumsticks on the hardwood -- except the stupid things kept falling out of her hands for some damn reason.

"Okay, so now we know, Kim's not allowed rum when she's got to play for real," Stephen Stills said, glancing over his shoulder from his position on the couch.  "It totally makes you suck."

"Bite me," Kim said.  "I haven't even had that much."

"You've had enough, obviously."

"Bite me."

"God, he's right, even your insults suck when you're drunk," Julie called from the couch.

Kim opened her mouth -- she suspected 'Bite me' was going to come out of it again, because even though she totally wasn't drunk, her head felt a little fuzzy -- but Ramona suddenly walked over and dropped to the ground behind her.  "Guys, you should be nice to Kim," she slurred.  "She's like my BFF for life."

"Your what?" Kim asked.  "That's so high school."

"Oh, I forgot, you guys are totally going to get gay married."  Julie's head popped up briefly, then dropped back down on Stephen Stills' lap.

"Dude, we so are!"  Ramona wrapped her arms around Kim and pulled her to her chest.

Kim glanced back at her.  "We are?"

"Yes!  It's gonna be awesome."

"Okay, sure, if you say so.  Can I get up now?  This isn't really comfortable."  She was leaning back almost horizontally over Ramona's crossed legs, and Ramona's kneecaps were digging into her back.

"What?  No, you can't leave me!"  Ramona looked around, then let go and scooted back so she was against the wall.  She spread her legs and reached towards Kim.  "Here, let's do this instead."  Kim rolled her eyes, but indulgently shifted backwards so that her back was against Ramona's chest.  Ramona wrapped her arms around Kim's shoulders and hummed happily.

Young Neil walked through the living room and into the kitchen.  "Dude, your girlfriend's totally cuddling Kim right now," he said.

"What?  Are they making out?"  Scott poked his head through the doorway, and blinked blearily at the girls.  "Make out!" he called.  Kim threw her drumsticks at his head, and he ducked back into the kitchen.

"Dammit Scott, stay out of my liquor cabinet!" Julie yelled.

Ramona shifted uncomfortably.  "Man, this paneling is digging into my back," she muttered.

"Really?  I'm all comfy now."  Kim snuggled a little closer, to drive the point home, and Ramona wrinkled her nose.  Kim chuckled, and said, "Do you want to get up?"

"I have a better idea.  Scott!"

Scott stepped out of the kitchen.  "What's up?"

"Come here, come sit with us," Ramona said, and Kim resisted the urge to laugh.  A few moments later they had shifted again, so that Scott was leaning against the wall, Ramona was leaning against Scott, and Kim was leaning against Ramona.

"Man, I got stuff digging into my back," Scott whined.

"Aw, come on, I thought you were totally tough."  Ramona smirked at him.  "You're seriously complaining about that?"

"I am so tough!" Scott cried, and leaned back harder against the wall.  "I'm super tough."

"Dude, don't hurt yourself."

Scott reached around so that his arms were wrapped around both Ramona and Kim.  "Yay, I have girls."

"Scott, don't make me bite you," Kim said.

Scott pulled his hands back some.  "Would she do that?"

"She probably would," Ramona replied.  "I'd watch out if I were you."  She gave Kim a squeeze, and Kim smiled.

-----

Some time and quite a lot of alcohol later, Stephen Stills finally stood up.  "Hey guys, we're heading out," he said.

"Is the party over?" Scott mumbled.

"It wasn't a party, Scott, we were just hanging out.  But you guys drank all my alcohol and now I want you to leave."  Julie gave Stephen a good-bye kiss that turned into a good-bye makeout session while Young Neil shuffled awkwardly next to them.

"I don't even think I can move," Scott muttered.

"Dude, I know, my legs fell asleep like an hour ago," Ramona said.

"What?" Kim said.  "You could've said something."

"But I wanted to cuddle..."

"We can cuddle at home," Scott said in a loud whisper.

"That is such a good idea," Ramona said.  "But first we have to stand up."

"Oh man, I forgot about that."

"Come on guys, it's time to go home," Kim said.  "Time for home."  She stood up, and helped Scott and Ramona to their feet.

"If you die on the way home, it's not my damn fault!" Julie yelled after them at they stumbled down the sidewalk.

"She's such a bitch," Ramona muttered.  "We're not that drunk."

"Yes we are," Kim said.

"We might be," Scott admitted.

"Oh.  Oh well."  Ramona grabbed Kim's hand and swung it cheerfully.

"So like...where are we going again?" Scott asked.

"Let's go to my place.  It's more -- there's less gay dudes there, you know?"

Kim stopped walking.  Scott ran into the back of her and put a hand on her shoulder, although she didn't know if it was to steady her or himself.  Ramona took another couple of steps before being tugged to a stop by her and Kim's joined hands, and looked around in confusion.  "What, what's going on?" she asked.

"You guys are going home to cuddle, and my house it kinda in the opposite direction," Kim said.

"Screw your house," Ramona said.  "Your house sucks."

"There is that," Kim admitted.

"You should come with us," Scott said.  The warm weight of his hand slid down to rest on Kim's back.  "Our house is way better."

"It's my house, Scott."

"But you guys are going to cuddle," Kim said.

"So?  We've been cuddling all night," Ramona replied.  "It's been fun, right?"

"It's been totally fun," Scott said.

"Right, so you're coming with us."  Ramona grabbed Kim's hand with both of her own.  "No way you're going home alone now."

"I think you guys are drunk," Kim said.

"You think too much..." Scott mumbled.

"Agreed."  Ramona started walking again, pulling Kim with her.  "You're not allowed to think anymore tonight.  And you're coming home with us."

Kim rolled her eyes.  "I'm being kidnapped, am I?"

"We're totally kidnapping you," Scott said.  His hand was still on the small of Kim's back, and Ramona's fingers were tangled with her own.  "You're kidnapped, and it's going to be awesome."

She smiled.  "I guess I can live with that."
I couldn't think of a title or a summary for this, so that's why those suck. I just had this mental image of Scott cuddling Ramona cuddling Kim, so I decided to write a story around it.

I could get behind this OT3. I don't think I'll write it much myself, because although I like Scott as a character, I don't have any strong desire to write him. That, and I suspect most of my fic for this fandom is going to have to be at least 50% Kim. This story was at least half experimental. I'm trying to get the personalities and dialogue right. It's a lot harder than it should be.

Thanks! Scott is hard to write. There's a thin line between making him fun and amusing, and just making him really stupid. I'm skirting it a bit right now. :D

very well done. I really liked the relaxed, easygoing tone of the story. It felt like an evening with my friends, and that familiarity lent itself really well to my enjoyment of the prose.

so this is sometime before the last volume then? what with julie and steven being together and all. (dude, if you want to write a male/male relationship you should totally explore the steven stills/ bearded guy couple. Shit would be so cash.)

Oh good, since that's pretty much exactly was I was going for. Some parts didn't flow as well as I wanted them to, but I'm figuring it out.

I didn't set a hard timeline on this particular story. I just knew I wanted Julie to be there, because she's amusing as hell. Hmm...provided we agree this is an AU story and therefore can deviate from the canon some, let's say it takes place near the beginning of volume four, after Julie's birthday but before Lisa and Roxie show up.

I'm okay with this.

and I dunno, I think there's real potential for OT3 post-series with these guys. We know Kim and Scott are on good terms, what with them starting their own band and whatnot. who knows, maybe Ramona's got a good set of pipes on her, and she ends up the lead singer? :3

I agree with the potential. Like I said, I just really wanted Julie there for this story. While this isn't the first OT3 I've seen, it may be the one with the most canon clues behind it, and that's pretty awesome.

Hah, this is apropos of nothing, but when I saw the movie with my brother and Ramona pulled the hammer out of her bag, he said, "I thought she would've had a guitar for a weapon." So apparently he was getting a musical vibe from her.

have you read anything with a good OT3 in it? Fan-made or original, I sort of want to do some research in that area and need some good examples for how to broach such a subject tastefully.

Ah geez, let me think. Most of my previous experience with OT3s has just been a general awareness they existed, and it's been a while. I don't think I've personally read anything worth mentioning. There have been a couple short fics or vignettes, but nothing good enough to stick out in my mind.

Oh wait, I just remembered one. It was actually a webcomic. Although, it occurred really late in the comic, and the characters were already well-established. Hm...next time you're on messenger I can send you the link and prep you on what's going on. It's better than nothing.

Now that's what I call cuddle time. I bet all three would be excellent cuddlers. Though maybe Ramona would be the only one that could coax Kim. And I completely agree, "Yay, I have girls," is an awesome line. :)

I see what you mean, they are a cute OT3. Part of me goes "Scott's in there? Hmm..." and then "Okay. I'm cool with that." He is a really likable guy. I liked him a lot more than I was expecting. He is such a loser but he's so confident about it, at least, and I think that's what really made it. XD

I think you're doing well at getting their personalities down. Kim especially, which is 'duh' since she's your fave. Keep up the practice! I very much enjoy it over here!

Boys can be fun to write sometimes (sometimes). Femslash is my one true love, but as a writer I try to branch out. I think you hit the nail on the head in that it's Scott's confidence more than anything else that makes him so much fun. But I agree, this would not be happening were it not for Ramona.

I've realized I don't really have an OTP for this series. My thing is pretty much, "Is Kim there? Aw, sweet!" Right after I finished this I started on a Kim/Lisa one from their high school years, and I actually have an idea for a little vignette from back when Scott and Kim were dating. Maybe that can be a new project: ship Kim with pretty much everyone in the Scott Pilgrim universe, because she's awesome and totally deserves fic.

Yes! We will both keep practicing with awesome Scott Pilgrim characters, and it will be wonderful!

D'aww, that's pretty adorkable, I must say. Even if you're not writing it too often, if it's more of this it'd be fun to see a few every now and then if inspiration strikes. ^_^

Don't worry, if the inspiration comes, it'll go up here. It's always kind of interesting, because whether or not I like a character and whether or not I want to write for a character really are two totally different things. But I do love pretty much everyone from that comic.

"Yay, I have girls."

Best. Line. Ever.

Although you're having trouble writing the characters I'm glad you are taking the time. Your short stories always bring a smile to my face. You're already so immersed in the Pilgrimverse and we the readers are benefiting from it. You are awesome.

On a side note: I now wish to get drunk and cuddle with people. It sounds fun.

I think I'm getting stuck on the fact that there's a good amount of canon to Scott Pilgrim (as opposed to How to Train Your Dragon where there was only a little bit), which gives us more to work with, but also defined the characters a lot more clearly, so I have to be more careful with them. If that makes sense. But I'll keep trying!

Aw, thanks! :) I'm really glad you're enjoying the stories. And cuddling does sound nice right about now, doesn't it?
